Fabrizio Romano shares Rangers transfer update as discussions ongoing at Ibrox
Rangers are working on some names behind the scenes as they look to secure more January transfers, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on Tuesday (23 January), the Italian journalist said he believes the Gers will “look at some opportunities”, but that now is the time for them to enter into “concrete stages of negotiations”.
He expects the Light Blues to “make something happen” in the final days of the transfer window as Philippe Clement looks to strengthen his squad at Ibrox.
“I think Rangers will look at some opportunities,” said Romano. “They are working on some names, so, obviously, now it’s time to enter into concrete stages of negotiations.
“I expect them to try to make something happen in the window’s final days.”
Got to get moving
It was no secret heading into the January transfer window that Rangers would be looking to strengthen their squad after the summer recruitment wasn’t quite up to scratch.
Their business of a few months back ultimately cost Michael Beale his job as a number of the players that he brought in failed to live up to expectations.
Although Philippe Clement has managed to get a tune out of some of those signings and put an excellent run of results together, the squad is still lacking quality depth.

The Gers have only managed to bring in Fabio Silva so far this month and, with Abdallah Sima and Kieran Dowell now expected to be out for an extended period of time, more additions are certainly needed.
The Light Blues do still have just over a week to bring in some new signings, but Clement will no doubt be keen to get his squad in place before the window ticks into its final hours.
In other Rangers news, a manager who wants to sign one Gers star this month has made a transfer admission.
