Mohamed Diomande due to arrive at Ibrox on Wednesday to complete Rangers transfer as announcement due in days

Mohamed Diomande is due to arrive in Glasgow to complete his move to Rangers on Wednesday 24 January, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The Rangers podcast reported via its X account on Tuesday (23 January) that the midfielder is set to make the trip to Scotland to finalise his switch from Nordsjaelland, with an announcement of the transfer expected in the coming days.

Diomande’s arrival had been delayed by Storm Isha, but he now appears set to sign a “long-term” contract with the Light Blues as he completes his £4.5million transfer [Chris Jack, 23 January], but the deal won’t be confirmed until pen has been put to paper.

Writing on X, Four Lads said: ” Diomande is due to arrive tomorrow, all going well, never done until it’s done, announcement in coming days.”

Nearly there

It probably hasn’t been quite as exciting a transfer window as most Rangers supporters had hoped with the only major arrival at Ibrox being Fabio Silva, but it finally seems as though the Gers are making some big moves this month.

While nobody will be celebrating Diomande’s arrival until there is a picture of him holding up a Gers scarf all over social media, he seems almost definitely set to become a Rangers player, barring any big late changes of heart.

Philippe Clement has needed to add to his midfield at Ibrox since he arrived as too many of the current options at his disposal have major fitness or injury problems that see them restricted to the sidelines for large periods of the campaign.

Hopefully the 22-year-old will make the trip to Ibrox without any late hiccups and sign on the dotted line. Although this is an expensive deal, it could prove to be a real coup for Rangers if Diomande hits the ground running.
