Doctor issues Rangers injury news on striker Danilo

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers.

Rangers striker Danilo will not be back in training until April at the earliest, which is over 10 weeks from Sunday, 21 January, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to the Brazilian’s Instagram post where he stated that he was getting better day by day.

Philippe Clement then revealed on 15 January that he would be unavailable for first-team selection until May.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Hard to speak on his step-by-step recovery timeline as we don’t have much information on the injury or possible setbacks but barring any complications, he should be back in training sometime in April.

“His recent update doesn’t give much information either but it does about his day-to-day mentality which is key for rehab.

A May return is what the club have stated so it seems like he’s on track based on initial estimates for an April training return.

Danilo has not had good luck with injuries since moving to Ibrox as he had a facial fracture as well which saw him wearing a mask to play.

He has managed to fight through hard times and whenever he’s been on the pitch, he has given everything to the side.

Fabio Silva has been signed on loan from Wolves to offer Clement another option in attack and the Portuguese forward made his debut against Dumbarton on 20 January.

In other Rangers news, clubs have now made contact with Gers as another first-team player appears set to be leaving the club soon.
