Chelsea ace Nicolas Jackson sends message to Abdallah Sima after what happened to Rangers star

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has sent a message to Rangers attacker and his Senegal teammate Abdallah Sima.

The message after the Gers ace was forced to withdraw from the Africa Cup of Nations and return to Ibrox due to injury.

The attacker now faces a “long period of unavailability” due to the thigh injury, according to the Daily Record (20 January).

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Sima wrote: “It’s with a lot of sadness that I tell you I won’t be able to continue the competition but my heart and strength will remain with this group who I hope will go after the trophy for our beautiful country because they deserve it..

He continued: “Thank you all for your many messages, I’m determined to come back even stronger,” with Jackson among those sending messages to the Gers man.

Heartbreak

It is a very unfortunate situation for Sima, who would have been eager to impress on the big stage with his nation. The long list of messages clearly shows just how popular he is in Senegal, with the country currently going strong in the tournament.

His injury is a loss to the African nation, but it is undoubtedly a bigger loss to Rangers, with Sima one of their standout players this season.

The only saving grace is that other attackers now have the chance to step up and impress Philippe Clement in Sima’s absence, however long it may be.

Rangers

The man in the dugout and Gers supporters can only hope that it is not as bad as it sounds, with the player needed at Ibrox as soon as possible.

Fortunately, Fabio Silva has been brought in on loan for the remainder of the campaign, but at the same time it seems that he will not have quite the impact that his fellow loanee has had so far.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have made an approach for a new striker, with the player now ready to perform.
