Galatasaray make plan for January window amid Rangers demands for Ridvan Yilmaz

Galatasaray have settled on their plan for a new left-back whether they agree a deal with Rangers for Ridvan Yilmaz or not, according to Yagiz Sabyncuoglu.

Writing on their official Twitter account (20 January), Sports Digitale report that the Turkish giants want to sign a new left-back and are set to terminate the loan of Angelino in order to get a deal done.

But the club are closing in on a deal to sign Berkay Yilmaz and if they can’t get a deal done for Ridvan, they will move for another foreign left-back in addition to Berkay with Rangers demanding a permanent transfer or loan with an obligation.

“Left back plan in Galatasaray,” they wrote.

“Sending Angeliño and replacing him with a foreign left back + Berkay Yılmaz. If Ridvan, Ridvan + Berkay.

If there is no Ridvan, Rangers want to send him via transfer or compulsory purchase. Then Foreign left back + Berkay Yilmaz.”

Good luck

Rangers are the team in the driving seat when it comes to these negotiations so it’s strange that Galatasaray are seemingly briefing plans to scare them into a deal.

It seems clear that Philippe Clement isn’t entirely convinced by the £4m man since he arrived, despite his relative good form since coming into the team in the weeks leading up to the new year.

Borna Barisic has been struggling with injury and Clement has already made it clear that the club can’t complete the rest of the season with just one option at left-back.

If Ridvan is going to leave then Rangers need to get a replacement through the door first, and that doesn’t seem very likely right now.

Time is running out, and Ridvan has already shown that he is capable of playing to a high level in this system so there should be no rush to force him out of the door either.
