Chaos as warning emerges in Dumbarton for Rangers showdown on Saturday
A weather warning has emerged in Dumbarton ahead of the Scottish Cup clash against Rangers on Saturday 20 January, as shared by the Daily Record.
The newspaper relayed the news on X, with a rain warning joining in the freezing temperatures ahead of an early afternoon pitch inspection.
It is said that weather “chaos” is causing problems for the cup weekend, but numerous games have already passed pitch inspections so far this morning.
Chaos?
With rain warnings and freezing temperatures, there may be some concerns about this game going ahead.
Thankfully though, pictures showing the pitch this morning looked to share good news, with no clear issues from first glance on the playing surface.
Rangers have already seen one game postponed in recent weeks, the home clash with Ross County at Ibrox, with the more games needing to be arranged, the worse it will get.
Philippe Clement has already admitted he is not a fan of the pitch at Dumbarton after issues in La Manga too, and the rain won’t do much to change his mind.
Hopefully, the pitch can remain in decent condition and we can get a game of football going this evening, with a big win needed after the winter break.
That would set things up perfectly to get back into league action and hopefully start closing the gap to Celtic with some big months ahead at Ibrox.
