Alex Lowry update as quickfire Rangers transfer news emerges at Ibrox
Alex Lowry is now set for a “quickfire” loan exit from Rangers before the end of the January transfer window, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported on X on January 19 that after his return from Hearts to Ibrox, the playmaker will be on the road again very shortly.
Lowry was supposed to remain at Tynecastle until the end of the season, and will not be used by Philippe Clement in the remainder of the campaign.
No brainer.
If Lowry couldn’t consistently perform at Hearts, there is no chance that he is ready to make the step up at Ibrox.
Ross McCausland has overtaken him in the squad in terms of academy wonder making the breakthrough and is currently performing every single week.
The young Scotland international certainly has a future in Glasgow, but he needs consistent football right now and that is something that is not on offer at Ibrox.
Clement has recently broken his silence about the transfer and contract situations at the club and how they have to be managed much better.
Lowry going out on loan would make sense, but his future has to be managed much closer before we end up in a scenario where his talent is simply wasted.
This is one to watch in the next couple of weeks with a quickfire exit on the cards, with all eyes on whether he will remain in Scotland again.
