4 Lads call for Rangers striker signing amid Philippe Clement new injury update

Four Lads Had A Dream have called for Rangers to sign another new striker in January after Philippe Clement’s latest injury update.

Writing on their Twitter account (19 January), the former partners of the Ibrox club were reacting to news that Brazilian striker Danilo won’t return from his knee injury until the final weeks of the season.

With Sam Lammers already leaving the club and injury issues rampant throughout the squad, Four Lads have now called for a new striker to join the club to give the manager more attacking options.

“The suspicion Danilo would miss the majority of the season seems a fair one, manager suggesting it will be last weeks of the season before [he] returns,” they wrote.

“With Roofe unreliable, basically have Dessers as our only forward, many others can fill in.

“Surely have to get a striker in?!”

Needed

Cyriel Dessers isn’t a great option to be your first-choice striker when you’re in a domestic cup competition, a title race and a European Cup in the second half of the season.

Kemar Roofe is a very good finisher but his unreliability when it comes to availability means the team simply can’t plan to have him around all the time, while the seemingly forgotten loan signing Fabio Silva is an unknown quantity.

Rangers

What this team needs is a reliable goalscorer and someone who can come in and hit the ground running immediately, to really be able to push Celtic all the way for the title.

The difference between the two teams currently is Kyogo’s ability to score on a regular basis, and with two weeks remaining of the transfer window there is time for the board to do the right thing and help the boss out.

A new striker, a new central midfielder and potentially a new left-back are all needed to really solidify this squad and it will be interesting to see how this plays out between now and then.
