Rangers v Dumbarton injury news: Doctor issues Nicolas Raskin update
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers.
Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin is likely to have recovered completely from his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has assessed his setback that saw him missing a few games but his return prior to the winter break was viewed as a positive.
The Belgian also started the warm-up game against Copenhagen on 16 January as he builds up match fitness ahead of the resumption of senior football.

Gers take on Dumbarton in the league on Saturday, 20 January, and the 22-year-old should be available for that one.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“The fact he returned means he will very likely continue to participate in team training during the winter break which allows him to build fitness.
“I’d still expect him to build up match minutes during the break.
“He’s also been playing in the warm-up games so there’s a very good chance he’s back to 100 per cent and available for the first-team games.
“The injury was on the top of the knee but not considered serious.
“My initial thought was that it was a knock on the knee from the contact.“

Before returning in the start of the new year, the 22-year-old’s last senior appearance for Rangers was back in October.
Raskin has looked promising since Philippe Clement has taken over but has not been fit enough to go on a run of games.
The Gers manager will be hoping that there is no re-injury for the defensive midfielder as he aims to close in on league leaders Celtic.
In other Rangers news, a £4.8million bid update has emerged as development occurs in Gers’ quest to seal a January signing.
