Broadcaster would rather Rangers sign David Jurasek after Fabrizio Romano update on Wednesday night

Bruno Francisco has delivered his verdict with both Hoffenheim and Rangers being locked in a race to sign David Jurasek.

Fabrizio Romano also issued an update on the left-back, who appears set to leave Benfica in the January transfer window.

With Ridvan Yilmaz expected to leave in January, Gers are understood to be in the hunt for a replacement.

Francisco wrote on Twitter: “Hoffenheim is not a bad idea for Jurasek. It is a country where the league always has good games, many of them offensive in nature and where a full-back whose main value is his ability to reach depth, could work. However, it doesn’t favour him as much as the Rangers.”

This comes after Romano reported that Hoffenheim were closing in on a deal to secure the services of the Czech Republic left-back.

Tough one

With Philippe Clement seeking reinforcements and Jurasek made available for loan by Benfica, the player’s eagerness for regular playing time and openness to a move to Glasgow make him an ideal fit for Rangers.

Considering their ability to present an enticing offer, Gers should capitalise on their favourable standing and try to make an eleventh-hour push.

Jurasek’s skill set aligns with the team’s needs, offering depth and quality in the left-back position.

Securing his signature could fortify Rangers’ squad depth for the remainder of the season, especially with ongoing competitions on domestic and European fronts.

Persistence and strategic negotiation will be crucial for Rangers to fend off competition and secure Jurasek’s services, potentially addressing a critical area in their squad.

An option to buy also could be handy as if Borna Barisic leaves in the summer and Yilmaz is to leave this month, they will then be without any recognised left-backs which is not a position to be in.
