Ridvan Yilmaz shares image as Rangers left-back linked with Ibrox exit, bid reportedly submitted

Ridvan Yilmaz shared an image on social media on Wednesday (17 January) amid reports a bid has been submitted for the Rangers defender.

Turkish outlet Sabah claimed on Tuesday (16 January) that Ridvan is open to joining Galatasaray, who are said to have lodged a loan offer.

No official word has been given from either club on the 22-year-old, who played for Rangers in their friendly draw against Copenhagen on Tuesday (16 January).

Ridvan has now posted a photo from that match on his personal Twitter account, accompanied by blue and white love heart emojis.

Goodbye?

Is this a goodbye message from Ridvan? If the speculation in the media is anything to go by, that may well be the case.

Philippe Clement did little to play down talk of an imminent exit when asked about the player’s future, effectively saying everyone has a price.

The Turkey international has hardly lit up Ibrox during his time at the club, but he has proved to be a decent enough deputy to Borna Barisic.

Rangers

What would be strange, though, is if Rangers sanction a loan exit for Ridvan. Given the lack of depth at left-back, that is surely not a wise choice.

If it is an initial loan with an obligation to buy, that would change things and may well be the first domino to fall in a late flurry of January transfer activity.

With another left-back needed, as well as a forward, Ridvan’s possible exit could well pave the way for incoming deals to be pushed through.
