Rangers transfer news as new strategy mooted with Ridvan Yilmaz exit on the cards
Galatasaray to determine a different strategy as they aim to secure the services of Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, according to Milliyet.
The Turkish news outlet reported on 17 January that despite a negative response received from Glasgow they will not stop their pursuit of the 22-year-old.
Hellas Verona have also been reportedly linked with a move for the Gers defender in January.

Not giving up
Galatasaray’s dedicated pursuit of Yilmaz signals a strong commitment to strengthening their squad during the winter transfer window.
The Turkish club’s persistence in negotiations, especially in the face of competition from Hellas Verona, suggests a strategic approach to bolstering their defensive options.
Yilmaz’s potential departure from Rangers aligns with his expressed desire to leave, creating a situation where Galatasaray sees an opportunity to capitalise on the player’s preference.

The loan-to-buy arrangement may stem from financial considerations or a desire to defer certain payments, allowing Galatasaray to manage their resources effectively but it does not make the most financial sense for Rangers.
Despite the Ibrox outfit’s reluctance to part with a promising asset on a loan basis, the pressure from the player’s expressed wish to leave and the financial terms offered by Galatasaray may lead to Yilmaz’s departure this month.
This saga is still likely to take a few more twists and turns before reaching its conclusion.
In other Rangers news, a £4.8million bid update has emerged as development occurs in Gers’ quest to seal a January signing.
