Rangers transfer news: £2m update emerges on Bristol City left-back Cameron Pring

Philippe Clement is weighing up a £2million move as Bristol City left-back Cameron Pring is on the wishlist of Rangers, according to Portsmouth News.

The news outlet claims on 17 January that Gers are willing to shell out a multi-million fee to bring the English defender to Ibrox.

Thus far, he’s made close to 95 appearances for Bristol and scored two goals for the EFL Championship outfit.

Worth a punt?

Ridvan Yilmaz is on his way out in January and perhaps what’s holding back a move is the club not being able to rope in a replacement.

He has started both the recent warmup games and Clement hasn’t been willing to commit one way or another over his future.

Pring does seem to be an interesting option to replace him and it remains to be seen whether or not the 25-year-old will consider a move north of the border.

He is an attacking full-back who’ll perhaps offer better competition to Borna Barisic than Yilmaz has done in his two seasons at Ibrox.

That’s what Clement will want as it’s been an area of weakness for the side and Barisic’s deal is also running out at the end of the season.

Thus far, he looks no closer to penning an extension at Ibrox and it remains to be seen whether or not he commits his future to Rangers in the coming months.

In other Rangers news, a £4.8million bid update has emerged as development occurs in Gers’ quest to seal a January signing.
