Rangers talks for Ridvan Yilmaz exit continue after what Philippe Clement said
Negotiations are continuing between Rangers and Galatasaray for the transfer of Ridvan Yilmaz in January, with the Turkish giants keen on a loan deal, according to Milliyet.
The Turkish news outlet reported on 17 January that Galatasaray have already reached an agreement with the player, but Rangers are demanding a permanent move rather than a short-term deal.
This has come after Philippe Clement told the media that Rangers would evaluate Yilmaz leaving Ibrox if they receive a deal that is impossible to turn down.

Speaking to the media following Rangers’ friendly clash with Copenhagen, Clement shared: “If an offer comes that we cannot refuse for Rıdvan Yılmaz or our other players, we will evaluate it. This is not the case right now. Rıdvan is here and started in the first 11. We will see what will happen.”
A deal is edging closer
Yilmaz has been widely expected to leave Ibrox since the January transfer window opened, and Galatasaray’s insistence on moving for the players appears to have put them in the lead in the race to sign him, despite it being suggested that a move to Hellas Verona was close.
Talks now appear to be speeding up for Yilmaz’s exit from Ibrox, with the Turkish giants reportedly having agreed to a deal with the player already, although, with only two weeks to go of the transfer window, those talks will need to speed up to get it over the line.
The disagreement between the two parties regarding the transfer itself – whether it will be a loan deal or a permanent move – remains the sticking point, and it will likely come down to which club budges first on their demands.

It also means Rangers will need a replacement as if Yilmaz leaves they could be left with just Borna Barisic at left-back, who has struggled with injuries this season and is widely expected to leave Ibrox come the end of his contract.
