Rangers injury news as Kieran Dowell update drops at Ibrox
Kieran Dowell has suffered an injury at Rangers’ warm-weather training in La Manga and is set for a two-month spell on the sidelines, as shared via Four Lads Had A Dream.
The Gers finished their friendly games with a deflating 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen on Tuesday, but another serious injury blow will be far more of a concern to Philippe Clement.
The Belgian’s squad has been plagued by injury since he arrived at Ibrox in October and that, seemingly, is not going to change anytime soon.
“Kieran Dowell got injured in La Manga and will be out for around two months. That’s a big blow,” Clement said as transcribed via X on Tuesday (16 January) from Clement’s post-match press conference.

The medical staff will have their hands full right now with the number of injuries Rangers are having to deal with this season.
While striker duo Danilo and Kemar Roofe are both suffering from spells on the sidelines, they have been joined by Tom Lawrence, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis, and now Dowell.
Nico Raskin has also been missing but returned to the side for Rangers’ two friendly matches, much to the delight of Gers fans everywhere.

Dowell was just beginning to find his feet at the Scottish club since joining from Norwich City last summer, having only played 11 matches. It has been a disappointing season for the 26-year-old and he has been delivered yet another blow.
Two months without Dowell will leave Clement light in the position yet again, which could see Rangers dip into the market for a midfielder before the January window closes. And it would probably be a sensible idea to do so, considering the squad’s consecutive injuries.
