Controversial Ridvan Yilmaz transfer on cards with Rangers exit in January
Ridvan Yilmaz could leave Rangers in a “controversial” transfer to Galatasaray before the end of the January window, according to Turkish-football.
Writing on their website (17 January), the news outlet report that the Istanbul club are interested in the young left-back and have made a loan-to-buy offer to get a deal done.
And while Philippe Clement stated that Rangers won’t allow Yilmaz to leave without an acceptable offer being made and a replacement being brought in, Galatasaray are still keen on bringing him in.

“Galatasaray want a left-back in January but Yilmaz joining the Istanbul giants would be a controversial move as he joined Rangers from rivals Besiktas,” they wrote.
Controversy
It would be interesting to know Ridvan Yilmaz’s take on this whole situation and if he feels forced out or if he is the one pushing for a move.
The Turk has struggled for game time since joining because of a host of injury issues, but in recent times has been playing regularly and playing well with Borna Barisic injured.

If the Croatian has been told he will return to being first-choice once he’s fit again then it would make sense that Yilmaz wants to move on, but that doesn’t seem like Philippe Clement’s style.
Galatasaray aren’t loaded but they’re a good side with a bit of cash and if they can afford to offer a £3.4m option to buy in their loan, then they can afford to just pay that now and take him permanently.
If not, then Rangers don’t gain anything from letting him leave and may as well keep him. This is one to watch closely in the coming weeks.
