Rangers fans will rage as £10m Michael Beale transfer news emerges

Former Rangers manager Michael Beale made huge changes at Ibrox last summer, bringing nine players to the club.

Two such players were attackers Danilo and Cyriel Dessers, with the struggles of the forwards playing a major role in Beale’s sacking shortly after.

The pair have failed to impress at Ibrox so far, with the former on six goals from 21 matches and the latter on nine goals from 30 matches.

Beale and indeed all Rangers supporters would have been expecting more from the summer recruits, with players not allowed much time at all to settle into life at Ibrox given the stakes.

And fans of the club may just rage at the latest news regarding the two strikers, with Football Scotland editor Mark Hendry reporting on X (16 January) that the club decided to buy the pair when they had the money to pay Luca Langoni’s release fee of £10million.

The Boca Juniors attacker may just have had a much brighter start to life in Scotland had he made the switch in the summer.

Moreover, the 21-year-old could have been signed with one eye on the future, with Langoni three years younger than Danilo and eight years younger than Dessers.

The Argentine is also a versatile attacker, capable of playing anywhere across the front line, which could have been a huge asset for Beale.

There is simply no telling just how different things could have been for the Gers had they made a different decision last summer, but current manager Philippe Clement must now look to the current transfer window if he is to continue his successful time in the Ibrox dugout.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have been ordered to pay compensation as a legal battle involving the club concludes.
