Ridvan Yilmaz update emerges for Rangers v Copenhagen after January transfer news
Rangers full-back Ridvan Yilmaz is still expected to feature in the friendly clash against Copenhagen at Ibrox on 16 January despite transfer rumours, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in their print edition [15 January, page 63] that, despite reported interest from Serie A club Hellas Verona and Turkish giants Galatasaray, Yilmaz remains in line to play in the friendly.
Plenty of speculation has surrounded the future of the full-back, with some suggesting a move to Verona was imminent, but if he features at Ibrox it will serve as proof no deal has advanced so far.

Playing the waiting game
With two weeks left until the transfer window closes, and Yilmaz heavily rumoured to be set for an Ibrox exit, it looks like both the club and the player are simply playing the waiting game until a noteworthy bid arrives from Europe.
As a result, Rangers have been linked with potential moves for several left-backs to provide cover to Borna Barisic with a long-term view to replacing the Croatian who has long been the club’s first-choice in that position, although his contract is set to expire in the summer.
The left-back position has rapidly become a priority for Rangers when it was initially expected that their January focus would be on improving their attacking options after the early arrival of Fabio Silva, but should Yilmaz lose, they will need cover.

The likes of Josh Doig and David Jurasek have been linked with moves to Ibrox, although much like any move for Yilmaz, no talks have advanced any further than initial rumours and discussions as things stand in Glasgow.
