David Jurasek u-turn on cards as Rangers transfer news emerges in January

Benfica left-back David Jurasek has emerged as a name on the list of possible January transfers at Rangers amid a potential U-turn on his future, according to Football Scotland.

The Scottish news outlet reported on 14 January that Jurasek has other options he would prefer to explore, but could change his mind with Rangers’ interest mounting.

Jurasek has made just 11 appearances in Portugal so far this season, and a loan deal could be on the cards this month in a bid to find more regular game time.

Another option emerges

Jurasek has emerged as the latest in a long list of left-backs linked with a January move to Ibrox, joining the likes of Josh Doig on their list of targets as their transfer priorities are becoming clear.

Doig has been linked heavily with Rangers throughout recent weeks, but after Fabrizio Romano reported those rumours were wide of the mark the rumours have faded, with the Scottish left-back set for a move elsewhere.

The likely departure of Ridvan Yilmaz in January, crossed with the expectation that Borna Barisic will leave upon the expiry of his current contract in the summer rather than being awarded a new one, has made the left-back position a priority this month.

With a couple of weeks remaining in the mid-season transfer window, Rangers will need to step up their pursuit of their options, meaning waiting around for Jurasec to decide on his future may not be something they can afford at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, one player may already have started his last game for the club.
