Rangers make approach to sign David Jurasek as rival bidder backs out of deal
Rangers have made an approach to sign Benfica and Czech Republic defender David Jurasek, according to A Bola.
The publication reported on its website on Saturday (13 January) that Marseille had an interest in the left-back but have instead opted to focus on Hellas Verona ace Josh Doig.
Jurasek, who has three Czech Republic caps to his name, has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Benfica this season.

“Rangers are interested in David Jurasek,” according to A Bola. “The Glasgow team has already informed about the possibility of signing the Czech international.
“Marseille even presented an offer for Jurasek, but, in the meantime, negotiated the Scottish Josh Doig, 21 years old, with Verona.”

New left-back incoming?
It remains to be seen exactly what Rangers manager Philippe Clement has in mind for his first transfer window at the club.
There was plenty of movement in both directions at Ibrox in the last transfer window, with Michael Beale really shaking things up before losing his job.
Clement has certainly steadied the ship since then, but the boss may just want to strengthen with one or two new faces for the remainder of the season.
And left-back is an area that has dominated the headlines recently, with the futures of both Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz up in the air.
But bringing Benfica’s Jurasek to Ibrox this month could prove tricky, with the defender having only joined the Portuguese giants from Slavia Prague in July.
It would, however, be a very exciting signing for Rangers and their fans, with the full-back boasting plenty of big-game experience despite being only 23.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have been ordered to pay compensation as a legal battle involving the club concludes.
