Doctor issues injury and retirement claim on Ranger striker Kemar Roofe
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers.
Ranger attacker Kemar Roofe may be forced into early retirement like former Chelsea and Real Madrid ace Eden Hazard, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The Gers forward has often returned for a few games and then faced a lengthy layoff and the same has occurred right now.
The injury expert claims that it’s a vicious injury cycle which if continued can even lead to an early retirement.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“He’s caught in a vicious injury-reinjury cycle with increasing dents in fitness which compounds injury risk.
“If bad enough, it certainly can force players into early retirement as was the case with Eden Hazard.
“A close eye will be kept on Roofe once he returns to full training but there’s always the re-injury worry.“

Roofe’s contract at Ibrox runs out at the end of the season and it remains to be seen if the club end up retaining his services.
The 31-year-old has just started 25 per cent of the games this season and has found the back of the net on just one occasion.
While his versatility is a key aspect, his availability raises major red flags and it’s certainly something Philippe Clement will be considering.
In other Rangers news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign a new left-back as Ridvan Yilmaz’s Ibrox exit appears to be edging closer.
