Daily Record journalist moots three more Rangers incoming during January transfer window
Michael Gannon has suggested that Rangers and Philippe Clement still have “plenty of work” to do in the January transfer window, suggesting they could make at least three more signings.
The Light Blues have already made one addition this month, with Fabio Silva joining the ranks at Ibrox for the second half of the Scottish Premiership campaign on loan from Wolves, but that may only be the start.
Rangers currently sit eight points behind Celtic, with two games in hand and Daily Record journalist Gannon believes that the Gers may need another three arrivals to be able to pip Brendan Rodgers’ side to the Premiership title this season.

Writing for the Daily Record’s Saturday Jury (13 January) he said: “He could still do with a left back, another wide man and maybe a centre back as well, so there’s plenty of work to be done.”
Plenty of work to do
Rangers underwent a big squad overhaul during the summer transfer window, with Michael Beale shipping out a number of Ibrox regulars and bringing in his own signings, but for whatever reason a number of those players have struggled to hit the ground running.
Unsurprisingly, the Gers have been reluctant to do the same under the management of Clement during the January window and instead, Rangers are taking their time over their incoming business as they look to secure the best possible signings.

However, the Belgian’s squad is still short on quality in several areas and as Gannon has suggested, the Light Blues do need to complete some business in a number of positions before the end of the month if they want to win the title.
It could be argued that the Gers could even do with a new number nine on top of the three positions he has labelled as needing improvement. While it feels unlikely Clement will make four signings in the final two and a half weeks of the transfer window, supporters will be hoping he at least makes a couple of new additions.
