Rangers transfer news: Update emerges on Michy Batshuayi future at Fenerbahce
Michy Batshuayi has issued an update on his future amid links to Rangers and Everton in the January transfer window.
The Fenerbahce striker has poured cold water on any reports linking him with a move away from the Turkish club even though there have been reported roadblocks in discussions.
He’s said that he’ll only move if Real Madrid come knocking and that his priority is to make Fenerbahce champions.

He told Beyav TV, as quoted by Football Scotland: “I am here until the end of the season. My priority is to make Fenerbahce champions. Then we will talk to the president. I want to stay in Fenerbahce. Of course, if Real Madrid calls, things may change.”
Move on
Signing Batshuayi presents challenges for Rangers due to his commitment to staying at Fenerbahce until the end of the season.
His intention to make Fenerbahce champions and the statement that he wants to stay unless Real Madrid calls suggest a strong loyalty and basically him ruling out a move elsewhere.
The hurdles for Gers include the Belgian’s high wages, potential competition from other clubs, and the uncertainty surrounding his contract negotiations with Fenerbahce.

Phillipe Clement’s side might be better off moving on as pursuing Batshuayi could involve a considerable financial investment, especially given his sky-high wages.
Exploring alternative transfer targets with more straightforward negotiations and commitment to an immediate move could be a more practical approach for Rangers.
There are other options out there who’ll be willing to move to Ibrox so it’s not like this is the end of the world for the club but they’ve got to make moves quickly.
In other Rangers news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign a new left-back as Ridvan Yilmaz’s Ibrox exit appears to be edging closer.
