Josh Doig Rangers medical claim shared by Doctor as transfer news emerges

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers…

Rangers will have to assess the injury record carefully if they are to secure the services of Hellas Verona left-back Josh Doig, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has explained an injury he suffered in September 2023 and has asserted that while it may not bring up red flags during the medical, it’s something worth being cautious about.

Per Daily Record, the 21-year-old has been tipped for a move to Ibrox amid the uncertainty over Ridvan Yilmaz’s future.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Not sure if it brings up any red flags ahead of the medical but any ankle injuries can be tough to manage because of the high demands on the foot and ankle during football.

“Last September, he had distortion trauma to his right ankle, with damage to the ligament of the anterior talar peroneus.

The injury itself is damage to one of the ligaments in the ankle complex.

The club surely will be assessing his injury history before going ahead to look for any patterns.

Rangers

Signing a new left-back will become imperative for Rangers if Yilmaz does end up leaving in January.

Thus far, the club have secured the services of Fabio Silva and Philippe Clement surely will want more faces in through the door before the window closes.

Doig is linked with a host of clubs so Gers will have to be quick if they are to secure his services.

In other Rangers news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign a new left-back as Ridvan Yilmaz’s Ibrox exit appears to be edging closer.
