Billy Gilmour sends four-word message as Rangers transfer announcement made
Billy Gilmour has sent a four-word message on social media to Ben Williamson after his Rangers exit has been confirmed.
The Gers announced on Thursday (4 January) that the academy product has joined League One side Hamilton Academical on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old Scottish midfielder wished the Light Blues well in a post on Instagram as he confirmed his time at the club he “loves” has come to an end, with Brighton midfielder Gilmour responding by saying “all the best mate”.

Played together
It isn’t too much of a surprise to see Gilmour wish Williamson well as the 22-year-old duo would have spent several years playing together in the Rangers academy.
While there would have been hopes at Ibrox that the pair would both go on to represent the club, there will be great disappointment that neither of them ever actually played for the senior team.
Williamson failed to make a first-team appearance despite being on professional terms for the past few years, while Gilmour left for Chelsea in 2017 after eight years with the Gers.

The former was sent out on loan several times over the past three years, with his six-month loan spell at Championship outfit Partick Thistle ending earlier this week before he made the switch to Hamilton.
It’s the best decision for everyone to allow the midfielder to leave on a permanent deal as it should provide him with a bit of stability to kick on with his career and prove why the Light Blues kept hold of him for so long.
