Doctor shares medical update on Liverpool defender Owen Beck amid Rangers and Celtic transfer links

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers and Celtic target Owen Beck, who’s currently at Liverpool is unlikely to face any issues with his medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The Times reported on 3 January that the two Old Firm clubs were keen on securing the services of the 21-year-old left-back.

The injury expert has assessed his fitness record and believes he’s battling a groin/adductor injury but it should not deter him from moving in January.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

It sounds like he is battling through a nagging groin/adductor injury which is being managed.

Unless it’s something significant, wouldn’t expect any issues with a medical.

Nothing suggests that it’s something to be worried about for any team looking to sign him.

Rangers currently have two first-team left-backs in Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz, both of whom have played multiple games this season.

However, the former is on the wrong side of 30 and the latter has not yet been able to find consistency since his move to Ibrox.

Should Beck be available in the January transfer window at the right price, Gers may be tempted to make a move for him.

In other Rangers news, a sensation at a big-name Premier League club is the perfect long-term defensive option for Gers and a January transfer must be on the cards.
