John Lundstram provides new Rangers contract update
John Lundstram has revealed he would love to remain at Rangers but contract talks will stay between him and the club, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
This has come shortly after concerns were raised when the midfielder refused to elaborate on whether talks had taken place [GIVEMESPORT, 16 December], but there is now hope that a deal can be reached.
Lundstram has emerged as one of the key players in Philippe Clement’s side, with his consistent performances in midfield the base around which they can build and play their game.

Speaking to The Rangers Review [3 January], Lundstram shared: “I’ve never shied away from saying how much I love the club and I’d love to stay but it’s obviously between me and the club to sort something out.”
Just as important as any transfer deal
With the January transfer window now open and plenty of speculation surrounding who Rangers will and won’t sign in the coming month, getting a new deal for Lundstram on the table should be one of the priorities for the chiefs at Ibrox to get over the line.
While there is no real deadline on when they could get this deal done, and therefore January transfers may be prioritised, Lundstram would now be available to discuss a move abroad if such an approach arrived.
His admission that he would love to remain at Ibrox beyond the end of his current deal should be music to the ears of the fans, Clement, and all involved at Rangers, with one of their most important and reliable players keen on extending his stay in Glasgow.

With the player keen, it remains on the board to get the deal done, and if for whatever reason they fail to do so, it will be obvious where the blame lays, with Lundstram confirming his intention to sign a deal if one is offered.
In other Rangers news, Nils Koppen has sent a January message to Rangers.
