Alan Brazil slams ‘moody’ Philippe Clement in new ‘arrogant’ Rangers verdict live on talkSPORT
Alan Brazil has slammed Rangers manager Philippe Clement live on air, labelling the Light Blues boss “moody” and “arrogant” following the Gers defeat to Celtic.
The Belgian has lost only once since arriving in Glasgow in November, with his only defeat coming at the hands of Celtic in Saturday’s (30 December) Old Firm derby and his record had earned him plenty of praise.
But talkSPORT host Brazil isn’t as convinced by the Rangers boss and has criticised Clement for his reaction to Matt O’Riley’s injury during the second half of the clash with Celtic, suggesting it displayed his arrogance.

Speaking on talkSPORT (3 January, 6:09) he said: “One thing I did say, and this is not because I’m one-sided, I don’t like the Rangers coach Clement. I think he’s moody and arrogant.
“One of the Celtic players was down, O’Riley, he’d done his nose I think and the camera just caught Clement saying, ‘hey, hey, stretcher get him off.’ It was right in the face, it was a head injury and I’m like ‘woah, calm down mate’.
“You’ve got to be careful, he’s an experienced manager, a good manager. Rangers have got a good one here, but he’s got that sort of look about him that Ten Hag’s got, do you know what I mean, grizzly.”
Get over it
Brazil may be claiming that he has put his Celtic allegiances aside when discussing Clement and his opinion on the Rangers boss, but it feels like his verdict on the Belgian is little more than some sour grapes.
The Old Firm derby is an incredibly important fixture in the Scottish footballing calendar and Clement’s reaction to O’Riley’s injury at Celtic Park was little more than a manager trying to get the fixture back underway after a lengthy injury delay.

How that is a demonstration of Clement’s arrogance or moodiness we have no idea. Brendan Rodgers would have acted in the same manner if the roles were reversed and Brazil would have had no complaints had the Celtic manager acted like that.
As for the comparisons with Erik ten Hag, the only seemingly obvious similarity with the Manchester United boss is the fact they are both bald. At least Brazil had the sense to admit the Rangers boss was a good manager at the end of his rant.
