Rangers-linked Alfredo Morelos decision on the cards soon post agent revelation

Rangers are expected to make a quick decision on Alfredo Morelos as the Santos striker’s agent has made a transfer revelation.

The Colombian’s representative has gone on record to state that the 27-year-old is keen on leaving the Brazilian club and talks are ongoing over the termination of his contract and he plans to be on the move this month.

The Fourth Official reported on 28 December that Gers held talks with the £40k/week striker ahead of signing Fabio Silva on a season-long loan from Wolves.

Martin Camono, Morelos’ agent, said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun: “We are in talks with Santos’ sports director Alexandre Gallo to see what is best for Alfredo and for Santos.

“We want to be clear we have had no discussions about wage reductions for Alfredo.

“Santos are obviously going through a difficult time and we want to help anyway we can.

“At the moment, there are no proposals for Alfredo from clubs, but we are looking at different markets so see what would suit Alfredo best.

“There are many possibilities in the football world and we are working to come up with a solution here.”

Gers’ recent signing of Silva provides a compelling reason for them not to pursue a reunion with Morelos at this time.

Silva, a promising 21-year-old forward with experience in the Premier League and European competitions, adds depth and versatility to Rangers’ attacking options.

The Portuguese’s arrival reflects the club’s proactive approach to strengthening their squad under Philippe Clement.

Moreover, Morelos’ potential return may pose financial challenges for Rangers due to his significant £40,000 weekly wages, making it a considerable factor in deciding against a reunion.

The club’s financial prudence and the need to maintain a sustainable wage structure would likely influence their decision-making process.

Additionally, Rangers have moved forward with a fresh addition in Silva, who brings youth, talent, and a different playing style to the squad.

The Colombian might have had a successful six-year spell at Rangers, but the club’s acquisition of Silva indicates a strategic shift toward younger talent and a desire to explore new attacking dynamics.

Hopefully, Silva can be just the spark that this side needs in order to reclaim the league title for Celtic.

In other Rangers news, a sensation at a big-name Premier League club is the perfect long-term defensive option for Gers and a January transfer must be on the cards.
