Fabio Silva decision made as Philippe Clement makes two changes – Rangers confirmed XI v Kilmarnock

Rangers have announced their confirmed starting XI for the Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock at Ibrox on 2 January as they look to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat at Parkhead.

John Souttar and Kieran Dowell come into the side, while Leon Balogun and Dujon Sterling drop out. Nicolas Raskin has returned to the bench after recovering from his injury.

Balogun misses out as a result of the red card picked up against Celtic, while Borna Barisic also misses out through injury. Connor Goldson has been deemed fit to start despite concerns over his fitness.

Time to get back to winning ways

Despite the disappointment of a 2-1 defeat to Celtic, Rangers have no time to sulk and lick their wounds as they return with what is now another must-win game against Kilmarnock to keep the pressure on their title rivals over the winter period.

Celtic moved eight points clear of Clement’s side following their victory, but with two games in hand, Rangers could cut the gap to just two points. That, however, will depend on them winning every game as they expect to do, starting with Kilmarnock today.

The arrival of Fabio Silva is sure to be a boost to the squad, although he doesn’t start today, with a new face and some fresh legs introduced to help inspire the team in their bid for further success having already collected one trophy this season.

As every game is at the moment, this is a game Rangers and Clement absolutely must ensure they win. They cannot afford to slip up and allow Celtic to extend their gap in the race for the SPFL title.

In other Rangers news, Nils Koppen has sent a message following his arrival at Ibrox.
