Rangers fans will be licking their lips as Nicolas Raskin injury update emerges, will be like brand new signing

Rangers suffered a major blow to their Scottish Premiership title hopes when they were defeated by fierce rivals Celtic.

The Bhoys picked up a 2-1 win over the Gers at Celtic Park on Saturday (30 December) to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

One major positive for Philippe Clement’s side, however, is that they have two games in hand over Brendan Rodgers’s men.

And there is now another major positive in the form of the imminent return of one star man, with Nicolas Raskin close to making a comeback from injury.

The midfield ace, who has been limited to just eight league appearances this season due to injury, has taken to social media to share a welcome update.

Posting a video of himself scoring a superb goal in training and celebrating acrobatically, Raskin posted on Instagram (31 December): “Feel so good to be back. See you soon on the pitch.”

Rangers have been going strong under Clement since he took over from Michael Beale, but the manager will need all the help he can get as the Gers prepare for a crucial stage of the season.

A Scottish Premiership title race will be the priority for the time being, but European football will return soon, and the return of Raskin in midfield will be a massive boost.

The 22-year-old is a fan favourite at Ibrox, and his return will feel like a brand new signing for many supporters given how he has not played since picking up an ankle injury against Hearts in October.
