Xavi Simons sends message as Rangers complete Fabio Silva loan transfer
Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons sent a message to Fabio Silva on social media after his loan move to Rangers was finalised.
The Gers announced the signing of the 21-year-old until the end of the season on Thursday (28 December) as he looks to help Philippe Clement’s side battle it out for more major honours in the second half of the season.
The Portuguese posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Thursday, holding up a Gers shirt at Ibrox as the forward said it was “truly a pleasure” to have joined the club.

Responding to the post, ex-Rangers transfer target Simons who was linked with a move to Ibrox back in 2021 (AS Diario, 1 December 2021) sent a five-word message to Silva, writing: “Enjoy your game play now!!!”
Big chance
It certainly seems as if Silva’s move to Rangers is a popular transfer across Europe if Simons is available enough to send him a message from Germany whole on loan at RB Leipzig.
And the young Dutchman’s message to Silva cannot be any more clearer given his struggles to get going at Wolves since his big-money move there in 2020.

Silva has just four goals and three assists in 62 top-flight outings [Transfermarkt] in total since his move to England – a record which certainly doesn’t scream of instant success at Ibrox.
However, there is a talent in there somewhere and manager Philippe Clement will do incredibly well to unlock it at Ibrox but Simons is right, Silva now has the chance to stake his claim and prove his undoubted talent in Glasgow.
He’s certainly shown he can make an impact in a temporary move having bagged 16 goals during his loan spells at Anderlecht and PSV last season.
If Silva can lead this Rangers team to a SPFL title come May then this move may well be considered a true stroke of genius from Clement and new Gers chief Nils Koppen.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has tipped one player to be a “surprise” star under Clement at Ibrox.
