Fabio Silva fires shot at Old Firm rivals following Rangers confirmed transfer
Fabio Silva has aimed a “best team” in Scotland dig at Rangers’ biggest rivals Celtic following his confirmed loan move to Ibrox on Thursday 28 December.
The Hoops were reportedly interested in the Wolves forward but were pipped to a loan deal by the Gers, with the club confirming the transfer on Thursday night.
However, it seems the 21-year-old has no regrets about joining Rangers, a move which will take effect when the transfer window opens on the 1 January, firing a shot at Celtic in his first official interview.

Speaking to Rangers TV on Thursday (28 December), Silva said: “Everyone knows I had other options from other clubs, but when I saw the option to come to Rangers on loan I was very happy. It was my first option straight away.
“I like to win titles, play at big clubs and feel the pressure straight away and to play in big competitions. To come here, for me, when we spoke about Scotland for me Rangers was the best team here.”
Best team in Scotland
The youngster’s comments will really rub salt into the wounds of Celtic, who seem to have missed out on the Portuguese forward, having seemingly tracked him for years.
But Silva will have already won some of the fans at Ibrox over with his first official interview, messing with their Old Firm rivals the day before the two teams meet for a top-of-the-table clash at Celtic Park.

Although Silva will not be registered before the January transfer window opens, the Wolves loanee will be able to get a true taste of the Scottish Premiership on Saturday lunchtime when the giants go head-to-head.
There is hope that Silva will be the perfect solution to Philippe Clement’s upcoming striker problems. Kemar Roofe and Danilo are out with injuries, Cyriel Dessers is too hot and cold to trust as the first choice, and Abdallah Sima will potentially be away for a month with Senegal for the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
With a run in the side, the winger, who can also deputies as a striker, could help Rangers and Clement through a tough winter period before setting their sights on the Scottish Premiership title and Europa League trophy.
In other Rangers news, the club may now look to sign an international striker in January amid a recent £2.3m development
