Scott Brown makes confident ‘not a problem’ prediction ahead of Celtic v Rangers
Scott Brown confidently predicted Celtic will beat Rangers “not a problem” in their huge upcoming Old Firm clash.
Bhoys great Brown was speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports’ coverage of Celtic’s 3-0 win at Dundee on Tuesday (26 December).
The victory means Celtic are five points clear of Rangers but have played two games more. It is all leading to a blockbuster Old Firm Derby at Celtic Park on Saturday (30 December).

But Brown thinks there is only going to be one winner. Asked by Sky Sports presenter Eilidh Barbour for a prediction, Brown replied in quotes reported by the Glasgow Times (26 December): “Celtic win. Not a problem. What about you?”
Barbour responded: “I’m just there to enjoy it, Scott.”
Only one way to make him eat his words
Who would have thought when Celtic defeated Rangers at Ibrox back in September that we would be in for a derby as huge as this one to see out the New Year?
Rangers were in dire straits under Michael Beale, the squad looked completely devoid of confidence, and the fanbase were despondent and baying for blood.
But out went Beale and in came Philippe Clement and the mood could hardly be more different could it? Through to the knockout stages of the Europa League, winners of the Viaplay Cup, and in with a genuine chance of winning the Scottish Premiership.

To do the latter is still a huge challenge, everyone involved with Rangers knows that.
It doesn’t mean it can’t be done, though, and you get the sense there is a little overconfidence involved in the Celtic camp – particularly from former players like Brown.
Frankly, there is only one to make him eat his words and that is by turning up and winning on Saturday. It won’t be easy, but it can be done.
In other Rangers news, Connor Goldson is a major doubt to face Celtic.
