Hearts manager Steven Naismith issues Lawrence Shankland transfer admission amid Rangers links
Hearts manager Steven Naismith has issued Lawrence Shankland’s transfer admission amid Rangers links in the January transfer window.
The Scotsman reported Gers’ interest and shared Naismith’s quotes on 23 December, admitting that there is interest in the 28-year-old Scotland international.
However, he’s reiterated that the striker remains focused on the job at hand which is performing for Hearts.

He said, “I think there is already interest in him. There is going to be. When you have got players playing at the top of their game there is going to be interest.
“Every club in Scotland are in the same category where we are not at the elite, top level where you can just push away anyone being interested in your players – but that doesn’t change anything.
“We are a club that’s in a really good situation. We are progressive and we want to get better as a business, better as a football squad – and having Shanks is that. So no, everyone is comfortable.
“The pleasing aspect is that he is doing so well. It’s credit to the team, credit to Shanks and credit to us all as a group. It is understandable that there is going to be interest when you are doing well.”
Sign him
Shankland’s impressive goal-scoring form, particularly with 10 goals in 11 games for Hearts, makes him a valuable addition to Rangers and they must look to sign him in January.
His clinical finishing and knack for finding the back of the net will enhance their attacking options, providing crucial depth and competition for places in the squad.

Given Rangers’ aspirations for success in domestic and potentially European competitions, securing Shankland’s services becomes imperative.
The title race looks to be going down to the wire and they’ll need players like the 28-year-old to step up in crucial moments.
The current state of play suggests that the Scotland international is a sought-after talent and Rangers must act swiftly to secure his signature in the January transfer window as there certainly will be other teams looking at him as well.
Danilo and Kemar Roofe’s injury along with Cyriel Dessers’ inconsistent performances makes it even more important for the club to sign a new striker over the summer.
In other Rangers news, the club may now look to sign an international striker in January amid a £2.3m development this week.
