Sky Sports journalist makes ‘top of the list’ Rangers January transfer prediction, two positions named
A central midfielder and striker could be “top of the list” for Rangers in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports Sahil Jaidka.
The transfer prediction comes amid the injury list at the Ibrox club, with Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram both injured against St Johnstone [official Rangers website, 20 December].
The Gers are also set to lose on-loan attacker Abdallah Sima next month for the Africa Cup of Nations, with the Daily Record reporting on Thursday (21 December) that the club currently have seven players out injured.

“A central midfielder and striker could be top of the list due to those absentees – and Abdallah Sima’s expected AFCON call-up – but whoever does arrive will have to hit the ground running, with question marks still surrounding some of those nine new faces who joined in the summer,” Jaidka wrote for Sky Sports (21 December).
New faces incoming?
Philippe Clement has enjoyed a dream start to his Rangers career, with the manager flying high with the club in all competitions.

The Belgian has closed the gap on league leaders Celtic to just two points, with the Gers having a game in hand over their fierce rivals.
Rangers have also lifted the Viaplay Cup under the boss, with Clement also taking the Scottish giants into the next round of the Europa League.
He has done all that despite injuries to several key players, but he could still try and strengthen in January given the challenges that lie ahead.
The Viaplay Cup is out of the way, but the fight for the league title is likely to go right down to the wire, while the standard in Europe will undoubtedly rise in the knockout stages.
Losing Sima meanwhile will be a huge blow, with the Brighton loanee among the leading players of the group that was brought to Ibrox by Michael Beale in the summer.
