Rangers transfer news as early January transfer wanted for Ridvan Yilmaz
Galatasaray are eyeing an early January deal to sign Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz on loan, according to Fanatik.
The Turkish sports newspaper reported on its website on Thursday (21 December) that signing a new left-back is the Super Lig outfit’s priority ahead of the transfer window.
It said the Istanbul-based club will make a loan offer for the 22-year-old Turkish international if they can’t complete a deal to sign defender Bradley Locko from French side Brest.

Unlikely
It seems unlikely that Yilmaz would be allowed to leave Rangers on loan after he his role in the side has increased since Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox.
While he is still competiting with Borna Barisic for the role as first-choice left-back, eight of his 10 SPFL appearances this season have come under the Belgian.
The Turkishman is also nine years younger than his Gers teammate, suggesting that if he bides his time the spot could be his on a full-time basis before too long if the Croatian starts to show signs of slowing down.

It just wouldn’t make much sense for the Light Blues to consider loaning out someone who is featuring regularly in the side at the moment.
That isn’t to say they wouldn’t consider a permanent sale if Galatasary were to make a reasonable offer as the money would allow Clement to strengthen other areas of his team.
