Rangers loanee Ianis Hagi will have been grilled as footage shows pitchside managerial meltdown in Alaves v Real Madrid

Ianis Hagi is doing his utmost to get his career back on track, with the Rangers man currently on loan at Deportivo Alaves.

He has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish club so far, with two goals and one assist to his name.

The 25-year-old will be trying to win over Gers manager Philippe Clement in the long run, but in the short-term he is currently trying to impress Alaves boss Luis Garcia.

The manager turned to Hagi for inspiration in their latest match, a La Liga encounter at home to Real Madrid on Thursday (21 December).

The loanee entered the pitch as a 59th-minute substitute with the game level at 0-0, only for Lucas Vazquez to score a 92nd-minute winner for the visitors.

The goal resulted in a pitchside meltdown from the home manager, with Garcia producing a lengthy outburst in and around the dugout [Football Espana, 21 December].

The meltdown will have undoubtedly extended into the dressing room at the full-time whistle, with Hagi and his Alaves teammates certain to have been on the receiving end of some harsh words.

While dramatic, the meltdown was certainly understandable given how close Alaves came to securing a huge point against La Liga giants Madrid.

The defeat leaves the club sitting 16th in the league table, just three points outside the relegation zone after 18 matches.

Fortunately, Hagi and his teammates now have the chance to recover from the managerial meltdown given how La Liga will now take a winter break.
