Todd Cantwell has sent a four-word message to Scott Wright after Rangers defeated Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup final.

Philippe Clement’s side won the clash 1-0 at Hampden Park on Sunday (17 December), securing a first Gers trophy for the manager.

Defender and captain James Tavernier netted the only goal of the match, scoring in the 76th minute to clinch a 28th League Cup trophy for the club.

Huge win

It may not have been the prettiest victory for Rangers, but everyone associated with the Glasgow club will not care one bit.

Clement has completely turned things around for the Ibrox club, with the Gers having been in a worrying position in all competitions under his predecessor Michael Beale.

But the powers that be made the swift decision to let Beale go and replace him with the Belgian, and it is turning out to be a superb decision.

The boss remains unbeaten in the dugout, and has already secured a trophy thanks to the narrow win against Aberdeen.

Moreover, he has guided the Scottish giants into the knockout stages of the Europa League after their dramatic win against Spanish side Real Betis.

All is certainly very rosy at the club, which really wasn’t the case not so long ago, much to the delight of the Ibrox faithful. The next task for Clement and his players involves closing the gap on rivals Celtic in the league table.
