Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes injury news shared by Doctor

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes may require a late fitness test whenever he recovers as there’s very little mentioned about his injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to an update on his absence where it’s claimed he would be out for an indefinite period of time.

Until there’s clarity on his situation, there will be fitness tests before games as the medical staff will look to ramp up his intensity in training.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Hard to make much of it because we don’t have much information, if any on it.

My expectation is that he will keep being monitored as the medical staff will ramp up his intensity.

He might require late fitness tests before he features next.

Cifuentes has struggled to make his mark at Ibrox since joining in the summer from Los Angeles FC.

Philippe Clement will, however, not be too worried, as Dujon Sterling has recently stepped up to become one of the most important players in that role.

The 24-year-old has made nine league appearances in the SPFL with his last one on December 9 in the 3-1 win over Dundee.

In other Rangers news, the club may now look to sign an international striker in January amid a £2.3m development this week.
