BBC pundit issues SPFL title admission amid recent Rangers and Celtic displays

Kenny Miller believes that Celtic fans may be a tad jittery now as Rangers appear to have clawed their way back into the title race.

Gers have played two games fewer than their arch rivals and the point difference is five points – meaning wins for Philippe Clement’s side in the two matches in hand will see them take top spot.

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side have recently suffered two shock defeats in back-to-back games against Hearts and Kilmarnock.

Miller, a BBC pundit, told Sky Sports: “I think that’s what you can sense in the stands was maybe just a little bit of panic setting from the fans, not necessarily with Brendan and his players.

“They sense that Rangers are moving in the right direction, they’ve got a new manager who is a winner and isn’t going to demand lower standards.

“The Celtic fans can just sense that there is a real title race on their hands, while two months ago they probably thought they had it all sewn up.”

Good times

Gers’ recent surge in form not only presents a tangible threat to Celtic’s lead in the Scottish Premiership but also signifies a positive trajectory for the team.

The unexpected back-to-back defeats suffered by Rodgers’ side have added to the sense of opportunity for Rangers.

Clement’s arrival surely has injected fresh energy into the squad and the fans’ perception of the club moving in the right direction reflects the team’s newfound confidence and momentum.

Additionally, Rangers’ success extends beyond domestic competition, as they have qualified for the next round of the Europa League.

This dual success in both league and European competitions further solidifies Rangers’ credentials and amplifies the pressure on Celtic.

The shift in dynamics from an assumed Celtic dominance to a genuine title race highlights the positive and competitive run of form that the Ibrox outfit currently enjoy.

In other Rangers news, the club may now rekindle the transfer interest in a ‘Dynamic’ central midfielder amid a recent behind-the-scenes coup.
