Tom English shares Rangers and Celtic title verdict as Hearts win at Parkhead
Tom English has shared that the title race is on for Rangers after Celtic crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Hearts on Saturday 16 December.
The BBC journalist admitted that it was a “huge day” for Hearts and Steven Naismith, with Celtic and Brendan Rodgers looking lost at the moment.
Rangers are only five points behind with two games in hand now, as they take on Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden Park later on Sunday [17 December].
He wrote on X: “Certain shades of the ’10 in a row’ season about Celtic right now.
“A point worse off now than they were then. Fan unrest. Totally unconvincing team. ‘Sack the board’ chants. BR looking lost.
“Title race on. Huge day for Hearts. The marquee win that Steven Naismith was looking for.”

World apart.
As Rodgers continues to look baffled, Philippe Clement has arrived at Ibrox and turned everything around, with the perfect chance to jump ahead now.
With Michael Beale in charge, Rangers were never in the discussion for the title and within a couple of months, that could not be any more different.
With two games in hand and an Old Firm derby at the end of the month, Rangers could have space between themselves and Celtic – who would have thought that?
After the famous win in Spain, another victory and silverware against Aberdeen would cap off the perfect win, with Saturday even perfect when we didn’t even play.
Rangers have swept Hearts aside numerous times in all competitions already this season, twice under Clement, but that isn’t for everyone as Celtic found out.
Here’s to another massive weekend.
In other Rangers news, a player in Clement’s first team is now being eyed up as a key transfer candidate ahead of the January window.
