Rangers: Abdallah Sima will be key to cup victory after John Lundram labels him ‘immense’

Abdallah Sima looks like he will hold the key to Viaplay Cup final success for Rangers after his excellent form so far this season, and John Lundstram has spoken glowingly about him in the media.

Sima has 14 goals so far this season and is Rangers’ top scorer, having begun his flying form under Michael Beale, he has been helped to excel by Philippe Clement and looks to get better every week.

Lundstram labelled his teammate as “immense” ahead of the League Cup clash, recognising how important he has been to the team, and he could be the difference-maker in the final.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game [16 December], Lundtram explained: “It obviously always helps when you’re playing well as well.

“You know, myself, Abdallah [Sima] has been absolutely immense, immense the last few weeks. Individual performances, collectively, and the intensity from the manager is a massive help.”

Sima has scored four goals in his last three SPFL games, a figure that rises to five in four when including his Europa League goal in the win against Real Betis and will be looking to keep his incredible form going in the cup final when it matters most.

His 3.3 shots, 1.1 key passes, 1.6 dribbles and 6.9 successful duels all per game prove how effective he can be on the pitch [Sofascore], always looking to make his presence known and change the game in the final third and using his attributes to cause issues.

On the pitch at Hampden Park, he could be the real difference maker with his pace able to stretch defences and force errors with rapid pressure, and that can make all the difference on that huge pitch at the national stadium.

With Lundstram proving how highly Sima’s teammates regard him, that level of support and public praise can only be good for his confidence which is already flying, and for that to culminate in a cup final goal, perhaps even a winning one, would be perfect.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has claimed one Rangers star should model his game on a Celtic player.
