Philippe Clement sends Rangers message on social media after 3-2 win v Real Betis
Philippe Clement sent a message on social media after Rangers secured their place in the Europa League last 16 following a rampant 3-2 win over Real Betis on Thursday.
Rangers prevailed in an absorbing thriller with the Spanish La Liga outfit to top the group and progress to the competition’s last 16 which takes place in March.
Goals from Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and a late winner from Kemar Roofe ensured picked up their first-ever away victory over a Spanish outfit and Clement sent an instant message to fans on his personal X account on Thursday (14 December)
Clement wrote: “Pride, that’s the only correct word to describe tonight’s team performance. What an incredible support from the fans.
“Ready for more European football in 2024.
“Now focus on Sunday.”
Wow
What a performance from Rangers on Thursday, with yet another impressive display and their first win on Spanish soil in the club’s history. Wow.
It was a thrilling match between the two clubs but the way in which Clement’s men performed and took authority at crucial moments in the match is something Rangers fans must be proud of.

A win certainly encapsulates the tremendous progress made under the Belgian coach who has yet to taste defeat as manager at Ibrox since his appointment in October – it is now 10 wins and three draws from his 13 games in charge, a stunning feat.
The Gers matched it with a team who suffered only their second defeat in their last 18 in all competitions and were yet to lose at home all season which only goes to show the tremendous achievement made.
The Sima and Dessers goals were memorable, especially the latter who has certainly undergone his fair share of criticism since his summer move but that goal he scored will be remembered for months to come and will also quite possibly make him Clement’s go-to man up front.
Sima is in tremendous form himself with his goal making it 15 goals already this season in all competitions but how Clement has got this team playing is superb. Roll on the Viaplay Cup final on Sunday.
In other Rangers news, Andy Halliday has urged Clement to axe Ridvan Yilmaz for the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden
