Graham Spiers reacts as Ally McCoist hits back at Rangers conspiracies

Graham Spiers has reacted to Ally McCoist after he hit back at “conspiracy” theories surrounding Rangers and penalties in Scottish football.

Jeff Stelling floated the idea of a conspiracy after Rangers scored their ninth penalty in their previous 10 games in the 3-1 win against Dundee.

McCoist hit back at the claims, and Spiers admitted he loved him “to bits”, not only as a player back in his time, but also as a person.

“I love Ally McCoist to bits,” he wrote on X.

“Loved him as a Rangers player, love him as a guy.”

Nonsense.

Any mention of a conspiracy is simply ludicrous, and that is exactly what McCoist is getting at.

Rangers may get more decisions their way, but that is because they dominate the ball in more than 90% of games they play in all competitions, so of course that will be the case.

McCoist is the voice of reason, and any other suggestions on that specific talkSPORT segment are simply to try and cause controversy as they always do.

Take the Dundee game for example, the penalty was correct as the defender held onto the shirt of Abdallah Sima for far too long, that is simply common sense.

But if there was a conspiracy, why did VAR intervene when Jose Cifuentes was only handed a yellow card? Surely, they would have left it if they were in favour of the Bears?

The argument crumbles instantly, it is embarrassing to even keep suggesting that.

In other Rangers news, the club may now rekindle the transfer interest in a ‘Dynamic’ central midfielder amid a recent behind-the-scenes coup.
