Danilo also ruled out for Rangers clash v Real Betis as crushing news emerges from Spain
Philippe Clement has confirmed that Danilo will miss the Rangers game against Real Betis on Thursday (14 December).
Speaking ahead of the Europa League clash on Wednesday (13 December), the Gers boss said the Brazilian forward will be out for “several months” after picking up an injury.
But he added that he doesn’t want to pinpoint how many months the 24-year-old is set to miss exactly as the injuries continue to pile up for the Light Blues ahead of the showdown in Spain and the Viaplay Cup final against Aberdeen on Sunday (17 December).
Blow
It’s a huge blow for Rangers that Danilo is set to miss several months after he has endured an injury-hit start to his career at Ibrox.
The Brazilian arrived from Feyenoord over the summer with a lot of hype around him, but he broke his cheekbone earlier in the campaign and has now been dealt another disappointing injury.
The forward has scored six goals and laid on five assists in 21 appearances for the Gers as he’s failed to really find any rhythm at the club.

Clement will be concerned by the number of issues he is facing as, alongside the injuries, Jose Cifuentes has been ruled out of the Viaplay Cup final after losing his appeal against his red card in the Dundee game.
It means the Light Blues squad is going to be stretched over the next few days as they prepare for what could turn out to be a couple of season-defining matches.
In other Rangers news, Clement has been left baffled by an SFA decision as an Ibrox fine is to be paid within days.
