Sky Sports make Rangers and Celtic announcement on Tuesday

Sky Sports have made a new Rangers and Celtic announcement following the confirmation times for four fixtures.

The broadcaster revealed on its website on Tuesday (12 December) that the Gers’ game away to St Mirren on 27 January and the clash against Aberdeen at Ibrox on 6 February will be shown on its channels.

It also confirmed that Celtic’s trips to Aberdeen on 3 February and Hibernian on 7 February will also be shown on Sky Sports as the SPFL title race heats up.

No surprise

It’s no major surprise to see Sky Sports extend its offering of Rangers and Celtic games as they are both shown on television most weeks.

The Old Firm are clearly the biggest draw in Scottish football, so showing their matches is the best opportunity to draw more attention to the league.

It is starting to get much more interesting for any neutrals at the moment after the Gers cut the gap on the Hoops to just five points at the weekend and have a game in hand on their city rivals.

Rangers

The pair will next meet each other at Parkhead on 30 December in a game that could potentially have a huge bearing on where the title will end up this season.

Philippe Clement has got the Light Blues firmly in gear after just a couple of months at the helm and he’ll be looking to ensure his side are full of confidence by the time that fixture comes around.

In other Rangers news, Clement has made an exit decision on one player ahead of the January transfer window.
