White instantly reacts on Sky Sports News with Rangers view as Celtic lose to Kilmarnock

Sky Sports News host Tom White says “there’ll be delight for Rangers” after Matty Kennedy scored Kilmarnock’s winner against Celtic on Sunday.

Philippe Clement has now hacked Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership down to five points while the Light Blues also have a game in hand to further reduce the gap.

Derek McInnes’ Killie came from behind to win against Celtic at Rugby Park and when the winner went in, White shared an instant verdict on the reaction at Ibrox.

“Incredible scenes there. It’s Matty Kennedy who’s put Kilmarnock ahead for Derek McInnes’ side and it’ll be a vital three points,” said White on Sky Sports News as Kennedy’s goal went in on Sunday (10 December, 01:46pm).

“Of course, it will be awful for Celtic and there’ll be delight for Rangers right now to keep the gap at five points as opposed to the eight it looked like it was going to be when Celtic took the lead.

“Derek McInnes, a former Rangers player, is celebrating Jose Mourinho style in the rain.”

Wow

Who was expecting this?

Celtic have been off it for several weeks now but you would have still predicted them to get the job done against Kilmarnock after going a goal up in the 33rd minute through Mat O’Riley.

But Killie are a decent side under McInnes and managed to claw it back and win all three points.

It’s incredible.

We owe our former player a few pints because the gap is now just five points with the Gers also holding a game in hand, which could see the gap reduced to two points.

Rangers play Celtic then at the end of this month so it’s now in our hands to be top of the Scottish Premiership table when you think about it.

If Clement can get a title challenge out of this season, let alone a title itself, that will be an incredible achievement after the mess caused by Michael Beale.

In other Rangers news, Clement has made an exit decision on one player ahead of the January transfer window.
