Rangers official media partner reacts as John Park agreement reached at Ibrox
Nils Koppen is starting to clear the decks at Rangers, according to David Edgar, amid speculation John Park has left his role at Ibrox.
The Scottish Sun reported on Friday (8 December) that following the arrival of new director of football recruitment Koppen, senior scout Park has left his role at Ibrox.
It is understood that Rangers and the ex-Celtic chief “reached an agreement” over his departure and he’s now seeking a fresh opportunity.

The Heart & Hand Podcast was founded by Edgar and is currently an official media partner at Rangers.
Edgar believes Koppen was behind Park’s exit as yet another backroom clear-out ensues at Ibrox.
“Koppen clearing the decks,” Edgar said via the Heart & Hand Podcast’s Twitter account on Friday (8 December).
Long overdue
Park is meant to be one of the best recruiters in the Scottish game but we’d love to know whether he was behind the inspired purchases of players like Cyriel Dessers, Jose Cifuentes and Sam Lammers in the summer transfer window.
Michael Beale should never have been given the freedom he had in the summer when he made a complete mess of things at Ibrox with a host of awful signings.
Many had suggested Park should have stepped into the director of football-type role in the wake of Ross Wilson’s exit to Nottingham Forest.
But if he had any say on the signings Beale made, it’s a good job he didn’t.
Park has ultimately failed in his duties here.
Our only good signing in the summer, based on what we’ve seen so far, was to bring Jack Butland in on a free transfer but any kid playing Football Manager would have been able to come up with a no-brainer move like that.
It’s a good thing that Park has gone and hopefully Koppen can bring in someone who he’s trusted in his career and can make a difference in Govan.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are to be laughed at as a £1million transfer suggestion is made by a pundit.
