Abdallah Sima sends four-word message to Danilo after news that emerged at Rangers

Abdallah Sima has sent a four-word message to Danilo after news of the Rangers forward’s knee injury emerged on Friday.

Striker Danilo, 24, started the 1-0 win over Hearts on Wednesday (6 December) but sustained an injury during the match that manager Philippe Clement said may require surgery.

Posting on Instagram on Friday, Danilo wrote: “Out of necessity not able to do what I love the most for a period of time. I will support the team from a distance for the upcoming games. For now I need to focus to heal my knee and getting back as soon as possible. Thank you all for the concern, I will come back stronger.”

Teammate Sima, on loan from Brighton who is one option to replace Danilo through the middle, replied to the post offering support.

“Come back stronger bro,” Sima wrote.

Nice touch

It is a huge blow for Rangers and boss Clement to lose Danilo to injury at such an important stage of the season, especially considering he has already missed so much time this campaign with a broken cheekbone.

With Kemar Roofe still struggling for fitness and Cyriel Dessers yet to prove he can score the goals Rangers need to compete in the Premiership, there is a very realistic prospect Rangers enter the market in January to boost their forward options.

One solution is actually to move Sima into a central striker role, but given his success at coming in off the left so far this term it would be a surprise to see him moved from that position.

Whatever Clement decides to do, it was a nice touch from Sima to publicly support his teammate and it will surely be a message that is appreciated by Danilo as he focuses on his rehab and getting back into the first-team fold as soon as possible.

In other Rangers news, Derek Clark has shared if a January exit for John Souttar will be sanctioned.
